Volume XIV — Pitampura

Mosquito mesh for Pitampura windows and doors.

Open windows in monsoon, without the company. Fixed-frame, sliding, roll-up and magnetic-door mesh, in fibreglass or stainless steel — fitted to most window types in a single afternoon.

Chapter — Pitampura

The cheapest upgrade with the biggest summer payoff.

Mosquito mesh is one of those quiet upgrades that comes back to you every July when the dengue advisory begins, and again every March when the first hot evening makes you want to leave the bedroom window open. We fit a lot of mesh in May and August — the people who fitted it in March feel smug; the people who delayed are now shopping in monsoon, which is the worst time.

Most of our Pitampura calls are for fixed-frame fibreglass mesh in aluminium frames — discrete, removable for cleaning, and almost invisible from outside. For balcony and main entrance doors, magnetic-edge mesh is the most popular pick because it self-closes and works for households with children or pets.

Why Pitampura buyers choose Siddhi for mesh

The frame is what fails first.

Mesh itself is durable — fibreglass woven mesh easily lasts ten years if it's not torn open by a pet or a child. The part that fails first is the frame: cheap aluminium that bends, plastic clips that snap in winter, magnetic strips that lose their pull within a year. We use a 14-gauge anodised aluminium frame as our baseline, with a stainless-steel spline holding the mesh tight. The whole assembly looks the same in year five as it did on day one.

For sliding windows — common in Pitampura's newer builder floors — we fit a sliding mesh in the same channel as the existing window, so there's nothing extra to dismantle in winter. For casement windows in the older DDA blocks, magnetic fixed-frame mesh sits on the inside and lifts off in two seconds for cleaning.

The mosquito-mesh categories we keep on hand

  • Fixed-frame fibreglass — the workhorse for casement windows and bathroom ventilators. Magnetic or velcro attachment, removable.
  • Sliding mesh — fits the same track as the existing window. Best for newer aluminium and UPVC sliding windows.
  • Roll-up retractable — disappears into a top-mounted cassette when not in use. Best for windows that you want to keep aesthetically clean.
  • Pleated retractable — folds horizontally rather than rolling. Premium feel, soft close, best for kitchen and balcony doors.
  • Magnetic doors — two-panel mesh with a magnetic centre seam that opens and closes by itself. Best for main doors, balcony doors, and homes with children or pets.
  • Stainless-steel mesh — for ground-floor windows or places where pets might claw the screen. More expensive, more visible, but harder to puncture.

What the install visit looks like

We arrive with a tape, a mesh sample, a frame sample and the chosen colour. We measure each window, ask whether you want fixed or removable, and quote a fitted price including the frame, the mesh and labour. The fabrication of the frame happens at the shop — the install at home takes a single afternoon for a five-to-seven-window flat. No drilling into the window glass or sash is needed for fixed-frame magnetic meshes.

Outside Pitampura, we fit mesh across Rohini, Shalimar Bagh, Ashok Vihar, Saraswati Vihar, Punjabi Bagh, Paschim Vihar, Model Town, Karol Bagh, NSP, Greater Kailash and Defence Colony. NCR coverage extends to Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad. Travel beyond 15 km from Pitampura attracts a small visit charge that is fully refunded against any order.

Mosquito Mesh · Pitampura · FAQ

Asked often. Answered honestly.

Which mesh type is right for a Pitampura window?

For most casement and sliding windows, a fixed-frame fibreglass mesh in an aluminium frame is the workhorse — strong, breathable, low-maintenance. For windows you don't want to hide aesthetically, a roll-up or pleated retractable mesh is better. For doors, a magnetic-edge mesh closes by itself when the dog or child runs through.

Fibreglass or stainless steel mesh?

Fibreglass for almost everything residential — flexible, doesn't rust, cheaper, and the weave is fine enough to stop everything from a mosquito to a small fly. Stainless steel for ground-floor windows or where pets might claw the screen, since steel mesh resists tearing. Stainless costs more and shows visible weave.

Can mesh be fitted on existing windows?

Yes, almost always. Fixed-frame meshes attach with magnetic strips or velcro to the inside of the existing window frame, so no drilling into the glass or sash is needed. Roll-up and pleated meshes need a small bracket fixed to the frame — that's the only drilling involved.

Does the mesh affect airflow?

Slightly. A clean mesh reduces airflow by about 10 to 15 percent — barely perceptible. A dusty mesh can reduce airflow more, which is why we recommend a quarterly wipe with a soft brush to keep it breathable through Pitampura's dust season.

How long does the install take?

A typical home with five to seven windows takes a single afternoon. Lead time from order is 1 to 2 days. Magnetic doors and roll-up screens take an extra day for the frame fabrication.
